SongByrd Jackson does soul,jazz, and r&b Fusion. She has a great range as well as is able to do any style of music. Born in Savannah, Ga on August 21st SongByrd always knew she had a gift to sing, make things, and be very creative! She is a real vocalist not just another artist out here! She sings because its her souls medicine not just because she can. She's poise, beautiful, talented, and her music is soothing and healing and the whole family can listen to her album and gain inspiration! So, remember her name SongByrd Jackson and, remember her album, Vol#1 Pain, Passion, and Liberation because she is definitely rated NEXT!!! © CD Baby

Songbyrd Jackson - Vol.1 Pain, Passion & Liberation

Not much pain here, but a great deal of liberation a really free, open sort of soul music that sounds totally great! Songbyrd Jackson draws on a great range of influences here, some of the hipper, more righteous soul modes of recent years, but delivered with a pointedly fierce groove that's all her own! There's some cool production on the vocals that really sharpen their edge, almost giving them an electric feel at times, yet never in ways that make them sound slick or commercial. And the rhythms are great too quite pronounced at points, even on some of the mellower tunes, but never in broken or nervous sort of styles. We're only just getting familiar with Songbyrd's talents, but they seem to be plenty from this debut album and we'll bet we'll be hearing plenty from her in years to come! © Dusty Groove
